THE FARMER'S MARKET

Whether you are a keen gardener or just getting started, it's always satisfying to see your own fresh produce on the table. All the more fun if you have grown a little more than you need, and can share it with friends. Getting it to market can be a little more trouble, but we'd like to make it easy for you. If you would like to show off what you have grown and earn a few dollars at the same time, our Farmer's Market is for you.

On Sunday March 7 and Monday March 8, we'll give you a free stall at A Taste of the Huon to sell your own produce. Starting at 10:00 am and going on until 12:00 noon (or until you've sold out!), there's no cost involved, other than your $7.00 gate pass. There's free parking nearby and we'll provide a market table and chairs.

Here are the conditions:

  • You can only sell fresh produce (fruits, vegetables, flowers, herbs) that you have grown or gathered yourself. No jams, preserves, baked goods or any other value added products are permitted.
  • You cannot sell any prepared food ready to eat - that is, no fruit salad, ice cream, biscuits, hot food, etc.
  • There are a limited number of stalls available. These will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis from 9:00 am each morning at the ATOH office on site at the Ranelagh Showground. You cannot reserve a table for either day. You must vacate your space as soon as you have sold out, and you must be prepared to share a table if you are selling a small quantity of produce.
  • Stalls are undecorated and unpowered. You may display price signs, but no commercial advertising is permitted.
  • All stalls must be vacated, and rubbish cleared away, by 12:30 pm on each day.
  • All participants must hold a valid gate pass, obtainable from the site office at $7.00 per adult. Children under the age of 18 are free.

A Taste of the Huon, Inc reserves the right to refuse a stall at its complete discretion. We offer no guarantee that a stall will be available, or that your produce will be judged acceptable for entry. Participation in the Farmers Market is entirely at your own risk and ATOH, Inc accepts no responsibility for any damage, injury or loss. You will be required to sign a disclaimer to this effect before participating.
